Baby K: nursery design plan and a baby quilt

Soon after we found out Baby K was a girl I started thinking about the nursery design.  I maybe went a bit over the top with an insane number of options which I shared in this post.  It was almost impossible to settle on a color scheme but after a little fabric shopping, inspiration finally hit.

My aunt so generously agreed to make Baby K a quilt and I wanted the quilt to be the jumping off point for the nursery.  Once I actually walked through the doors of a fabric store and was able to touch and interact with the fabric I knew what I wanted to do.

Aqua and Pink to compliment the Grey base of the nursery.

I am so excited for this quilt. I love the fabrics and I know my Aunt will do a beautiful job.  The design/pattern of the quilt is going to be a surprise but here are some quilts that I love.

I'll share the final product when it arrives - probably a good long while from now.

So with these fabrics as my inspiration and jumping off point the design of the nursery is coming together.  Light grey walls, grey carpet, white furniture with some fun aqua antiques thrown in and then pops of color in the curtains, pillows and other accessories.

I can't wait till it is all finished and we can welcome Baby K home to her very own room.
I think we will be spending a lot of time in there cuddling in the glider under her new quilt.

Do you have sources for those fabrics at the top?? Love them!! My girls' room is done in white and black with pink and aqua accents. All the fabric so far is Michael miller in those colors. I'm getting ready to update it a little with baby girl #2 due in a month! I'm gonna need new fabrics for the toddler's bed (I have a friend who made all the infant bedding and will make that too!), and I'm thinking of painting the walls a light gray to break up all the white!!

Btw, love following along with your pregnancy-especially since I'm on my second one too! I've been following a long time but don't think I've ever commented! Sorry! :)

Hi Stacey! First of all, congrats on baby #2. How exciting to be having another girl. It sure makes decorating easier and in my opinion more fun. The room sounds so cute as is. I love the black and white theme but I think your updates will make it all the better.

In terms of a source list I do have the names of all the fabrics. I ordered them through fabric.com so I'll list them all here so you can find them. If that doesn't seem to work or is too difficult I could take some time to email you a list with the photos. Here are the names:

Pinks:
Taza Tarika Fuchsia
Stella Cotton Solid Pink
Riley Blake Dainty Blossoms Dot
Pin Dot Hot Pink
Mimosa Stained Glass Light Pink (my favorite the roman shade fabric)
Meet Me At Sunset Stained Glass Pink (same fabric but darker pink)

Aquas:
Lanikai Stained Glass Aqua (same fabric but aqua)
Kumari Garden Tarika Blue
Modern Meadow Herringbone Pond
Michael Miller Mini Mikes Dot-N-Square Aqua
Michael Miller Children at Play Racer Stripes Aqua

I hope this gives you a good start. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Good luck!

Thank you! Sometimes it works and sometimes it definitely does not.

Wow! Thanks for all the fabric details!! I should've known some would be Michael Miller! I'm like a magnet to it!! All the fabric I picked out for her 2nd bday and all the new baby's things are Michael Miller! I'm going to check out all the sources you listed soon! I often order from fabric.com

You really did a great job coordinating all those fabrics! Can't wait to see what you come up with for the nursery!
