The Construction Begins

Fortunately after demolishing our porch and then leaving for the weekend our contractor did come back and actually start building things.  I was slightly worried we may forever have a pile of rubble to greet our guests.

All weekend people were trying to leave out the front door.  It was pretty hysterical when they were greeted by this.

No worries though.  Now they will be greeted by this.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate today so he can get the posts and roof up.  I am getting so nervous to see it with the gabled roof.  What if it doesn't look good on my house?  Or the proportions are off and it is too massive for our small home?  What if my windows now look funny? Ahhh....the stress and excitement.  We will just have to see.
